Today morning, top filmmaker of Dharma Productions Karan Johar took us by surprise by revealing the name of his next directional hit Takht.

Karan Johar is a bigwig when it comes to directing business and is the person responsible behind super hit films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, to name a few. Now he is moving his focus away from romantic pictures and is going towards period and historical movies. He will soon be directing film Takht, a period drama.

The main reason of Takht news going viral is its huge cast which contains many luminaries of Bollywood industry including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pedneker and the newcomer Janhvi Kapoor. Karan Johar shared a picture of the film’s name poster and wrote a bit about the story.


An amazing history tale of family, betrayal, greed, ambition, succession and love, he said. According to him, the film will feature a grand battle for the Mughal throne.

The news spread in bollywood industry like fire and as soon as anyone heard, they didn’t forget to pass on good wishes to the director. Farah Khan was the first one cheer with the happy director because, as she wrote, she wakes up the earliest.

 


Shashank Khaitan expressed his excitement and wrote that a huge star cast is in the hands of an amazing director. Riteish Deshmukh conveyed his best wishes and mentioned that he was looking forward to this one. Varun Dhawan praised Karan’s passion for the film and congratulated him.
