Nawaz Sharif And Daughter Maryam To Be Arrested Immediately After Return To Pakistan Today

Just a week after being sentenced to jail in the Avenfield scandal, the ex-prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif is expected to return to Pakistan today along with his daughter Maryam.

On 6th of July, the Islamabad accountability court sentenced the infamous former Prime Minister to 10 years in prison in the Avenfield case. The ex-PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz was also given a sentence of 7 years in prison.

In addition to this, both were imposed with a heavy fine. The court has also taken measures to seize the Avenfield apartments, which were possessed by Nawaz Sharif. Maryam’s husband Captain (retired) Safdar was also given the verdict of one year in prison.

The arrestments started immediately following the verdict. First it was Mr.Safdar, who was captured a day after the verdict.

The PML-N party workers and supporters tried their best to hinder in the way of his arrestment and stop the authorities and the officials from capturing him.

Now two more criminals are left to be arrested. Nawaz Sharif and his family were in England when the verdict was announced.

They will soon be arriving in Pakistan where they will be arrested immediately. Nawaz will have to serve one more year in prison if not cooperative.

Heavy arrangements have been made for arresting the two criminals. More than 10,000 police officers have been deployed in this case.

Travelling through Abu Dhabi, they are expected to arrive at Lahore airport in the evening. The authorities have instructed to use containers to prevent any hindrance in the arrestments.

Two teams have been posted each at Lahore and Islamabad airports by the National Accountability Bureau for the purpose.

Two helicopters have been sent to the airport to shift the father and daughter to Adiala jail. The NAB Chairman has strictly notified that strong actions will be taken against those who try to come in the way of arresting the two PML-N leaders.
