Smoke Dawg Death: Drake Pays Tribute After A Toronto Rapper Died In A Shooting

World renowned artist Drake pays tribute after one of his opening act,rapper Smoke Dawg, died in a shooting incident last Sunday. He was the third rapper to be killed by shooting in the month of June.


On 30th June, a 21-year-old rapper Smoke Dawg was killed in a shooting incident in front of a nightclub in the entertainment district in Toronto.

He was one of the opening acts for Drake, the famous rapper, and supported him on Boy Meets World tour in 2017. Smoke Dawg was also a part of the Halal Gang, consisting of four other members.

Drake paid his tribute to the deceased rapper by posting a picture on his Instagram, of the two of them performing on stage during a concert with a caption that said, “All these gifts and blessed souls and inner lights being extinguished lately is devastating.”

He continued his condolence by saying that it is regretful because they will never be able to hear his story ever again and concluded his messageby hoping that “peace will return to their city soon.”

Earlier this month, American rapper XXX Tent acion was also shot dead in front of his hotel, and another rapper Chief Keef was also shot but his life was saved with the bullet narrowly missing him.

The police is investigating the incident however, there aren’t many leads on the case since the incident happened on a crowded street. The mayor of Toronto also talked to the media regarding the cases and blamed it on the increase in gun violence.

The friends and family of the young rapper are mourning him and expressing their condolences by posting messages on their social media accounts. Smoke Dawg will be missed by his one-year-old daughter, his siblings and his parents.
