A terrorist suicide blast at an election rally in the Mastung region of Balochistan has put nearly 128 lives to death, and close to 200 people have been wounded and hurt in the assassination that is said to be the most disastrous one since 2014.

A politician from Baluchistan Awami Party, Nawabzada Siraj Raisani was one of the victims of the terrifying explosion. At the time, he was engaged in activities related to the upcoming elections.

Nawabzada Siraj was quite a favorite and preferred one in the area Mastung as he was the younger sibling of Nawaz Aslam Raisani, Balochistan’s previous Chief Minister.

Just a few hours before the shocking hit, another political figure Akram Khan Durrani, who is a candidate for MMA party, also survived an attempt of assassination when his campaign convoy was attacked with a bike bomb. Luckily he stayed unharmed, according to the officials.

According to Baluchistan Home Minister caretaker Agha Umar Bangulzai, Mr. Siraj Raisani was seriously wounded in the tragic incident and gave up on his life on the way to the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta. He also confirmed the number of people martyred and wounded in the Mastung tragedy.

Lashkari Raisani, another brother of Siraj Risani, told the reporters that he and Aslam Raisani were also threatened by an unknown person.

He also mentioned Siraj Raisani’s 16 year old son who died in a bomb attack back in 2011 at the time when Aslam Raisani was the Chief Minister. Back when he was the Chief Minister, Aslam Raisani also over lived a suicidal attack.

In a whatsapp message, the so-named Islamic State of Afghanistan claimed the responsibility of the suicide blast. Large number of attacks have been executed by IS in the past few years in the areas covering the Afghanistan border-line.

The Pakistan government has taken many safety measures to secure and protect the areas over the last few years. The military has performed many actions to reduce terrorism in the country.
