Toddler In California Dies After Accidentally Shooting Himself In The Head

Last Saturday, a two-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the head and died hours after receiving the wound. The boy and his family are residents of Fresco, California but nothing else has been reported about them.

The incident occurred on last weekend, reportedly around 12 pm, when a two-year-old toddler shot himself in the head with a gun.

At the time of the shooting, the parents of the boy were not home however, two adults were presents to babysit the toddler. These adults are said to be the fiancée of the father and her friend, although no names were disclosed.

It is also not clear how exactly the boy came into the possession of a gun but it is conjectured that the gun was lying around on the bed or the bedside table as the boy was discovered on the bed when the rescue team arrived.

He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment but could not sustain the fatal gunshot wound and died about 5 hours after the shooting.

The local police in California is thoroughly investigating the case to identity the owner of the gun. There are chances that the gun belongs to the father but it can just as easily belong to one of the adults babysitting in the house.

Determining the owner of the gun is probably the most important factor in this case because he or she will be the recipient of the punishment.

By law, you cannot simply leave your gun lying about in the house, especially where there are kids even if you do have the license for it.

Licensed gun owners need to put effective safety locks on their guns, otherwise not only will they be fined but also held responsible for any mishap that happens involvingtheir gun.
